PROCLAMATION <br />EAT LOCAL WEEK <br />WHEREAS, Transition Louisville is sponsoring Eat Local Week, August 28 — <br />September 4, 2010; and <br />WHEREAS, Eat Local Week is an opportunity for Louisville residents to explore and <br />celebrate the abundance of local food, highlighting local family farms <br />and farmers' markets, along with the restaurants, grocers, and <br />organizations which support them; and <br />WHEREAS, eating locally helps to raise the awareness of the importance of a local <br />food economy and keeps money in our community; and <br />WHEREAS, eating locally helps to build citizen awareness of local food and <br />farmers, and promotes the reconnection with family and friends around <br />the dinner table; and <br />WHEREAS, local Boulder County farmers can provide a variety of locally grown, <br />healthy foods directly to the public; and <br />WHEREAS, eating locally -produced food supports our region's farmers and <br />preserves the way of life that we cherish; and <br />WHEREAS shopping locally for food encourages the growth of local businesses <br />and a local workforce; and <br />WHEREAS, the Eat Local!
