RESOLUTION NO. 27 <br />SERIES 2003 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE APPROVING <br />THE CONCEPT PLAN FOR IMPROVEMENTS AT THE McCASLIN/U.S. 36 <br />INTERCHANGE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, an Open House was held by the City of Louisville and the Town of Superior on <br />September 10, 2003, to which all elected officials and Planning Commission members of both <br />municipalities and the public were invited; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at the Open House, the Regional Transportation District ("RTD") and <br />consultants presented Concept Plans for improvements to the U.S. 36/McCaslin interchange <br />including the concept plans for landscaping, a pedestrian bridge, bus ramps, parking lots and waiting <br />areas as well as the southwest loop; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, RTD and the Colorado Department of Transportation ("CDOT") have <br />requested that the City of Louisville and the Town of Superior approve the Concept Plans before <br />further public funds are spent on engineering and preparation of construction drawings to implement <br />the Concept Plans; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City and the Town will have an opportunity to provide further input on the <br />improvements as the detailed drawings and engineering proceed; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the public entities are striving for the interchange to be open by Thanksgiving, <br />2004, which requires that all parties work diligently to consider plans, drawings and contracts to <br />maintain the construction schedule. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> <br /> 1. The Concept Plans for the improvements to the U.S. 36/McCaslin interchange <br />improvements including landscaping, a pedestrian bridge, bus ramps, parking lots, waiting areas, and <br />the southwest loop as presented to the City Council and the Planning Commission on September 10, <br />2003, are approved. <br /> <br /> 2. City funding of U.S. 36/McCaslin interchange improvements shall be subject to <br />adoption to any necessary budgetary transfers or supplementary budgets and appropriations in <br />accordance with the City Charter and State law. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of September, 2003. <br /> <br /> <br />
