RESOLUTION NO. 21 SERIES 2011 A RESOLUTION TO CHANGE WARD BOUNDARIES FOR THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO TO CONFORM TO CONSTITUTIONAL APPORTIONMENT REQUIREMENTS WHEREAS, based on the 2010 federal decennial census and subsequent change in the population of the City, it is necessary and appropriate for the City Council to change ward boundaries to conform to constitutional apportionment requirements; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that the change in ward boundaries contained in this resolution conforms to the constitutional apportionment requirements, complies with the requirements of the City charter, and is in the best interest of the citizens of the City, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: 1. The boundaries of Ward 1 of the City of Louisville, Colorado are revised so that Ward 1 is that area contained within the City Limits that lies north of the line described as follows, also known as the south line of Ward 1: Beginning at the center of Section 12, Township 1 South, Range 70 West of the 6th Principal Meridian, thence east approximately 1315 feet to the east line of Anderson `B' Annexation; thence north approximately 148 feet to the northwest corner of Anderson `B' Annexation also being the City Limit boundary; thence east along the north line of said Anderson `B' Annexation approximately 1245 feet to the intersection of the west right of -way line of McCaslin Boulevard to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING: Thence east across McCaslin Boulevard approximately 132 feet to the east right -of -way line of said roadway; thence north approximately 250 feet to the north boundary line of Hilltop Subdivision, Outlot B -3; thence east along said northern boundary line of Hilltop Subdivision, Outlot B -3 to the southeast corner of Lot 20 of said subdivision; thence northeast to the southwest corner of Lot 42 of said subdivision; thence east along the northern boundary line of said subdivision, Outlot B -3 to the intersection with the right of -way line of Kennedy Avenue also being the southeast corner of Lot 50 of said subdivision; thence east approximately 55 feet across Kennedy Avenue to the southwest corner of Lot 51 also being the northwest corner of Hilltop Subdivision, Outlot B -5; thence east along the northern boundary of said outlot to the centerline of Washington Avenue; thence north along said centerline to the intersection with the centerline of West South Boulder Road; thence east along said centerline to the intersection with the centerline of Via Appia; thence southwest along the centerline of Via Appia to a point of intersection with the west line of Section 8, Township 1 South, Range 69 West of the 6th Principal Meridian; thence south along said section line to the West /4 Corner of said Resolution No. 21, Series 2011 Page 1 of 3
