Library Board of Trustees Special Meeting Minutes (Approved) Tuesday, January 23, 2007 Library Meeting Room, 1st Floor 951 Spruce Street 7:00 PM 1. Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. 2. Roll Call The following Board members were present: · Alicia Mahoney · Mary Seifert · Eileen Patrick · Lisa Kahn · Jerry Maddock Library staff members present: · Anne Mojo · Karen Freiter Absent: · Channah Horst 3. Business A. Town of Superior's Library Usage - Recommendation to City Council Amidst the ongoing negotiations between Louisville and Superior, the Board of Trustees asserts that it is incumbent upon them to state-for the record-their view and position on the issue of fair and equitable compensation from Superior for their residents' usage of the Louisville Public Library. Immediately prior to the start of this special meeting, a copy of the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) drafted by the Town of Superior was received and distributed for review. The Board unanimously agreed that several items in the IGA should not be linked to the Library issue nor addressed in the Board's recommendation. Rather than broaden the scope of the Board's original intent for this document, the members agreed to proceed with a recommendation that focused only on fair and equitable compensation from Superior. Anne and Lisa had prepared working outlines prior to the meeting. During the meeting, the final document was composed, reviewed, and unanimously approved. 4.
