Horticulture & Forestry Advisory Board Meeting Minutes April 5, 2007 Louisville Public Library 951 Spruce Street 6:30 PM Call to Order - Chairperson Theresa Rounds called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. Roll Call was taken and the following members were present: Board Members Present: Theresa Rounds, Michael Frontczak, Tim Gilpin, Jeff Hafner, Fred Banta, Matt Tepe, Ellen Toon Board Members Absent: Susan Spaulding Staff Members Present: Chris Lichty, City Forester Council Member Present: Dave Clabots, Ward I Approval of Agenda - The agenda was approved as presented. Approval of Meeting Minutes - The minutes from the March 151 meeting were approved with the exception of one requested change to item number nine. It should read that it is fine for the Library to be used by HFAB for a proposed lecture series not the meetings (that has already been established). Public Comments to Items Not on the Agenda - The recent vandalism to trees and greens on the golf course as well as damage done to trees at the Meadows Park - Chris informed us that the assessed value to the tree cut down on the golf course was $1,700 and the damage to the green was extensive. Chris brought up that he is going to request to be replaced periodically as the staff liaison to HFAB. He questions whether he is the right person to always act as liaison since often the topics raised are not related to Forestry. The possibility of rotating the position of liaison amongst the different staffers in Land Management was raised (i.e. Scott Robson, Rob Teetzel, Chris Lichty, and Parks Horticulturist).
