<br /> <br />Louisville Cultural Council <br /> <br />Meeting Minutes <br />DATE April 19, 2007 <br />Louisville Recreation Center <br />900 West Via Appia <br />7:00 PM <br /> <br />Call to Order - Chairperson Wendy Phillips called the meeting to order at 7: 1 0 <br />PM. <br /> <br />Roll Call was taken and the following members were present: <br /> <br />Board Members Present: Wendy Phillips, Julie Kovash, Jim Pollicita, <br />David Hosansky, Don Atwood, Maryan Jaross, Carol Cheh Saia, <br /> <br />Board Members Absent: Sandra Lilja, Kathy Pollicita, Lisa Kihn <br /> <br />Staff Members Present: Kathy Martin, Julie Seydel <br /> <br />Approval of Agenda - The agenda was approved by all members. <br /> <br />Approval of Meeting Minutes - The minutes from the March 15, 2007 meeting <br />were approved with minor changes. <br /> <br />Public Comments - None <br /> <br />Guest: Lori Jones (Variety Arts) spoke about her interest to create an arts <br />support organization to complement the efforts of the Louisville Cultural Council <br />(LCC) and other local groups. She expressed thanks for LCC encouragement <br />and appreciation for LCC's work. Her principal focus is on connecting artists and <br />potential clients and developing a facility in Louisville for an "arts space." Her <br />intention is to operate this effort as a non-profit supported by rental income and <br />donations. There was a lively discussion that concluded with expressions about <br />the need for clarity and communication and encouragement to move forward in a <br />complementary way. <br /> <br />Guest: Bett Koppit (Storyteller) described her work and interests in working with <br />LCC. She travels widely as a storyteller for diverse audiences, tailoring her <br />stories to those present, the venue, and times.
