<br />ORDINANCE NO. 1212 <br />SERIES 1996 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR THE REGULATION OF TRAFFIC BY THE CITY OF <br />LOUISVILLE, COLORADO; ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE 1995 <br />EDITION OF THE "MODEL TRAFFIC CODE FOR COLORADO <br />MUNICIPALITIES; " MAKING AMENDMENTS THERETO; AMENDING <br />CERTAIN SECTIONS OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE IN <br />CONNECTION THEREWITH; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS <br />OF THE ADOPTED CODE; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN <br />CONFLICT THEREWITH. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 42-4-110(1) (b), C.R.S., <br />municipalities may in the manner prescribed by Article 16 of Title <br />31, C.R.S., adopt by reference all or any part of a model municipal <br />traffic code that embodies the rules of the road and vehicle <br />requirements as set out in the state traffic laws; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Department of Transportation has <br />prepared and adopted a 1995 revised edition of the Model Traffic <br />Code for Colorado Municipalities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City desires to adopt the all or a portion of the <br />1995 revised edition of the Model Traffic Code for Colorado <br />Municipalities, with amendments. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> <br />Section 1. Section 10.04.010 of the Louisville Municipal <br />Code is hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />10.04.010 <br /> <br />Adoption. <br /> <br />Pursuant to parts 1 and 2 of article 16 of title 31, <br />C.R.S., as amended, there is hereby adopted by reference <br />Articles I and II inclusive of the 1995 Edition of the <br />"Model Traffic Code for Colorado Municipalities," <br />promulgated, published and adopted August 17, 1995 by the <br />Colorado Department of Transportation, Staff Traffic and <br />Safety Projects Branch, 4201 East Arkansas Ave., Denver, <br />Colorado 80222. The subject matter of the Model Traffic <br />Code relates primarily to comprehensive traffic control <br />regulations for the City. The purpose of the Code <br />adopted herein is to provide for a system of traffic <br />regulation consistent with state law and generally <br />conforming to similar regulations throughout the state <br />and the nation. At least three (3) copies of the Model <br />Traffic Code adopted herein are on file in the office of <br />the Clerk of the City, and may be inspected during <br />regular business hours, as required by law. <br /> <br />1 <br />
