ORDINANCE NO. 1613 <br /> SERIES 2012 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 2 OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE TO <br /> ADD A NEW CHAPTER 2.50 REGARDING DISASTER EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council desires to set forth a disaster emergency preparedness policy <br /> to provide for continuity and efficient operation of local government in times of disaster <br /> emergencies; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> Section 1. Title 2 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended by the addition <br /> of a new Chapter 2.50 to read as follows: <br /> Chapter 2.50 <br /> DISASTER EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS <br /> Sec. 2.50.010. Procedures. <br /> Sec. 2.50.020. Disaster emergency response powers. <br /> Sec. 2.50.030. Compensation. <br /> Sec. 2.50.040. Line of succession. <br /> Sec. 2.50.050. Conflicting ordinances, orders, rules and regulations suspended. <br /> Sec. 2.50.060. Violation of regulations. <br /> Sec. 2.50.070. Penalty. <br /> Sec. 2.50.080. Applicability of state law. <br /> Sec. 2.50.010. Procedures. <br /> A. Declaration of Disaster Emergency: The mayor shall have the power <br /> to declare that a disaster emergency exists, when in the mayor's opinion, such an <br /> event has occurred or the threat of such event is imminent. For the purposes of <br /> this chapter, a disaster is the occurrence or imminent threat of widespread or <br /> severe damage, injury, or loss of life or property resulting from any natural cause <br /> or cause of human origin, including but not limited to fire, flood, earthquake, <br /> wind, storm, wave action, hazardous substance incident, oil spill or other water <br /> contamination requiring action to avert danger or damage, volcanic activity, <br /> epidemic, air pollution, blight, drought, infestation, explosion, civil disturbance, <br /> hostile military or paramilitary action, or a condition of riot, insurrection, or <br /> invasion existing in the city. <br /> Ordinance No. 1613, Series 2012 <br /> Page 1 of 7 <br />
