The following persons were present: <br />City CouncilPresent:Mayor Bob Muckle <br />Hank Dalton <br />Emily Jasiak <br />Jay Keany <br />Susan Loo <br />Ron Sackett <br />City Council Absent:Frost Yarnell <br />Staff Present:Malcolm Fleming, City Manager <br />Heather Balser,DeputyCity Manager <br />Meredyth Muth, Public Relations Manager <br />Troy Russ, Planning Director <br />Bonnie Star, Economic Development Director <br />Joe Stevens,Parks & Recreation Director <br />Kevin Watson, Finance Director <br />Call to Order–The meeting was called to order at 7 PM by Mayor Muckle. <br />Discussion –Continuation of the City Sales andUse Tax for Open Space <br />Acquisition,Development and Related Purposes <br />City Manager Fleming reported that the Open Space Sales Tax is set to expire at <br />the end of 2013. Staff is asking for a discussion of both when an extension <br />should be sought (election of 2012 or election of 2013) and if the language <br />should be amended to change(sunset rules)or add anything (golf course or <br />recreation center) to the approved uses for the funds. <br />Council members concurred that the funds from the tax are essential to the <br />functioning of the Parks and Open Space Divisions and that if those fundswere <br />no longer available it would require either large cuts in the Parks and Open <br />City of Louisville <br />City Council 749 Main Street <br />Louisville CO 80027 <br />303.335.4533 (phone) 303.335.4550 (fax) www.LouisvilleCO.gov <br /> <br />
