CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO <br /> OFFICE OF THE MAYOR <br /> EXECUTIVE ORDER <br /> Effective May 1,2013 <br /> Placing Mandatory Watering Restrictions Upon Users of the <br /> City of Louisville Water System Because of Drought Conditions <br /> Pursuant to the authority vested in the Mayor of the City of Louisville, Colorado and, in <br /> particular, Section 13.08.060 of the Louisville Municipal Code, I, Robert P. Muckle, Mayor of <br /> the City of Louisville,hereby issue this Executive Order placing mandatory watering restrictions <br /> upon users of the City of Louisville water supply system. <br /> Need and Purpose <br /> Information indicates that the Colorado Front Range is experiencing one of the worst <br /> drought conditions on record. These severe drought conditions have impacted and continue to <br /> impact the City's available water supply. There are concerns regarding lack of adequate <br /> snowmelt and stream runoff, and the significant demand that irrigation places upon the existing <br /> water supply during the summer months. This Executive Order is intended to conserve water by <br /> mandating outdoor watering restrictions. This Executive Order will result in reducing outdoor <br /> water usage and assist the City in meeting the goals of reserving adequate water for the coming <br /> months. <br /> Order <br /> Pursuant to Louisville Municipal Code Section 13.08.060, the following mandatory <br /> watering restrictions are hereby imposed upon all users of the City of Louisville water supply <br /> system, effective at NOON on May 1, 2013: <br /> 1. Responsible Party.As used in this chapter, "customer"means the owner or occupant <br /> of the licensed premises. <br /> 2. Irrigation Watering Restrictions. All customers shall conduct all watering without <br /> any water waste, as defined in Louisville Municipal Code Section 13.08.120. All customers, <br /> except those who irrigate with recycled water, shall comply with the following watering <br /> restrictions from May 1 to October 1,unless exempted by special permission or by means of a <br /> water budget: <br /> a. Watering shall be limited to two days per week in accordance with the following schedule. <br /> Single-family residential properties with odd-numbered Saturday <br /> addresses Wednesday <br /> k - i <br /> Single-family residential properties with even- Sunday <br /> numbered addresses Thursday <br />
