RESOLUTION NO. 23 <br />SERIES 2014 <br />A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE LOUISVILLE /SUPERIOR JOINT <br />ISSUES COMMITTEE <br />WHEREAS, the City of Louisville and Town of Superior desire to continue cooperative <br />efforts to address issues of mutual interest; and <br />WHEREAS, for such purpose and pursuant to Section 10 -2(f) of the City Charter, the <br />City Council by this resolution desires to establish the Louisville /Superior Joint Issues <br />Committee and set forth its membership, goals and responsibilities; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />Section 1. There is hereby created the Louisville /Superior Joint Issues Committee <br />( "Committee "). The goals and responsibilities of the Committee are to serve as a forum to discuss <br />and provide recommendations with respect to issues of mutual interest to the City of Louisville and <br />Town of Superior, including without limitation transportation issues; coordination of utility systems; <br />development of the Superior Town Center; coordination of trails, pedestrian connections and Safe <br />Routes to School, and other matters. <br />Section 2. The Committee shall consist of two Louisville Councilmembers appointed <br />by the City Council, two Superior Trustees appointed by the Town Board, and one staff member <br />from each municipality as appointed by the respective governing body. Appointment or removal of <br />the Louisville Committee members shall be by an affirmative vote of a majority of the entire City <br />Council. Such Louisville members shall not serve fixed terms and shall serve until their successors <br />have been appointed. A Louisville member's membership shall automatically terminate if such <br />person ceases to be Councilmember or, in the case of the staff appointee, a Louisville employee. <br />Section 3. The Committee shall be an advisory committee to City Council. The <br />Committee shall have the power to adopt policies and procedures for the conduct of its activities, <br />which shall be consistent with the provisions of the City Charter, ordinances and other applicable <br />law.
