<br /> <br /> <br />City Council <br />Police Chief Recruitment Meeting Summary <br />January 17, 2014 <br />Spruce Meeting Room, 749 Main Street <br />7:30 <br />AM <br /> <br />The City Council met in a study session at 7:30 a.m. in the Spruce Meeting <br />Room in City Hall located at 749 Main Street, Louisville, Colorado. The following <br />persons were present: <br /> <br />City Council Present: Mayor Bob Muckle <br /> Mayor Pro Tem Hank Dalton <br /> Councilmember Jay Keany <br /> Councilmember Jeff Lipton <br /> Councilmember Susan Loo <br /> Councilmember Ashley Stolzmann <br /> <br />Staff Present: Malcolm Fleming, City Manager <br /> Kathleen Hix, Human Resources Director <br /> <br />Others Present: Heather Bergman, Facilitator <br /> Olivia Sampson, Associate of Faciltator <br /> <br /> No members of the public were present. <br /> <br /> <br />Heather Bergmann facilitated the discussion with City Council on the qualities <br />and characteristics they would like to see in the next Chief of Police. Ms. <br />Bergmann used the following questions to guide the discussion and asked <br />additional questions to gain further insight into their statements. <br />1. What are the strengths of the Louisville Police Department? <br />2. How do you think a great police department operates? <br />3. What do you think is the most important function of the police chief? <br />4. How do you think hiring a new police chief will impact you? <br />5. What hopes or ambitions do you have for the new police chief? <br />6. What characteristics of the outgoing chief do you value and hope will be <br />embodied by the new chief? <br />7. Are there any new characteristics you would like the City to seek in a new <br />police chief?
