ILI2 CITY OF LOUISVILLE FALL 2003 <br /> 0MMUNIT Y UPDATE <br /> CITY COUNCIL NOVEMBER 4 CITY ELECTION ISSUES <br /> Mayor Tom Davidson <br /> 303.666.8573 The City of Louisville will be participating in the November 4 <br /> davidst @ci.louisville.co.us countywide mail ballot election. City residents will elect a new mayor <br /> and three City Council members, as well as vote on <br /> Ward I <br /> two ballot questions. <br /> Mayor Pro Te m Chuck Sisk Each of the City's three wards will elect a city <br /> 303.665.6889 v4te <br /> charlesisk @aol.com council representative while the mayor is elected at <br /> large. Each will fill a four-year term. Mayor Tom <br /> John Keany Davidson will be stepping down after twelve years of <br /> 303.665.4818 service and the terms of Chuck Sisk (Ward 1), Sheri Marsella (Ward 2), and <br /> keanyj @ci.louisville.co.us Don Brown (Ward 3) will also expire. Nomination petitions for the positions <br /> Ward II of mayor and council members will be circulated between August 5 and <br /> Sheri Marsella August 25, at which time the candidates will be certified. <br /> 303.665.3276 Voters will also be asked to vote on a bond issue in the amount of <br /> marsels @ci.louisville.co.us $7,405,000 for the construction of a new library building. If approved, the <br /> City will issue bonds in the amount of$7.2 million to be repaid over a 20- <br /> Michele Van Pelt year period. The bonds would be financed through a property tax increase of <br /> 303.673.9235 no more than 1.581 mills, costing residents about$37.75 annually on a <br /> vanpelm @ci.louisville.co.us $300,000 house. The current City mill levy is 5.184. The proposed library <br /> Ward III would be built in a downtown location and would be a two-story building of <br /> Don Brown approximately 31,000 gross square feet.
