Our youngest daughter,Jennie, graduates from
Ward I Monarch High School and in August she will be flying from
Dave Clabots the Louisville nest to her next plateau. We have been so for-
303.673.9116 tunate to have our children and now our grandchildren inte-
clabotd@ci.louisville.co.us grated into the Louisville community. The schools and teachers
are extraordinary and the ability to know our children's friends
Jay Keany and their parents is very comforting.
303.665.4818 Pardon me if I emphasize what I think to be Louisville's
keanyj@ci.louisville.co.us best virtue - our community has an indomitable sense of character that is Louisville.
Ward II It is reflected by our citizens on a daily basis and with each graduating class such
as the Monarch Class of 2005. Our young people are better prepared for the many
Sheri Marsella challenges that lie ahead. They have the inner confidence, not cockiness or brashness,
303.665.3276 of their community and this allows them to go forward with prospects and insights
marsels@ci.louisville.co.us many other young people won't enjoy.
Michele Van Pelt Reflecting on Jennie's wonderful education commencing at Coal Creek Elementa-
303.673.9235 ry, then Louisville Middle School, and now Monarch High School, we have been the
vanpelm@ci.louisville.co.us recipients of countless hours of instruction, care, and concern by the many teachers
and administrators that have made the significant decision to make education their
Ward III vocation. They have exceeded our expectations as parents! On behalf of the many
Don Brown parents that have children in schools, may I thank the teachers for their dedication
303.673.0648 and professionalism in making a difference for our children? They have instilled a
brownd@ci.louisville.co.us sense of community in our children and lead by example for which we should be
excessively grateful and I am.
Arnold Levihn I envision the time when our children make the choice to return to Louisville
303.665.2024 as young adults and I ask the question, what will Louisville afford them in five to
levihna@ci.louisville.co.us ten years? Can they afford to live in Louisville or will there be adequate housing in
City Manager Bill Simmons Louisville for young families? Will our schools be local neighborhood schools or will
303.335.4532 they be part of consolidation? Will Louisville be attractive and have employment op-
simmonw@ci.louisville.co.us portunities that attract new families and other services that we believe important as
a community? None of us are clairvoyant, nevertheless we must continue in making
City Council Meetings are some critical decisions. There are so many positive aspects to which we can point in
held the first and third Louisville, but are those enough?
Tuesdays of each month at Answers to these questions are the community's decision and yes, you are right, I
7:00 PM at City Hall, am alluding to the Comprehensive Plan.
