I.E City of Louisville •Community Upda <br /> iitinrnr ',9 ' CITY PREPARATIONS FOR Y2K <br /> Mayor: Torn Davidson The City continues to review plans and equipment so that we ma` <br /> Ward 1 Councilmembers: be prepared for difficulties that might arise with the coming New Year. <br /> Charles Sisk,Jay Keany The City Y2K committee, created in November 1998, consists of <br /> representatives from each department. The committee was then divided <br /> Ward 2 Councilmembers: into two areas, those departments with only computer issues and those <br /> Kevin Howard, Torn Mayer departments that cover essential city services. Essential City services <br /> Ward 3 Councilmembers: are the Police Department, Water Treatment, Wastewater, Finance, an( <br /> Rob Lathrop,Arnold Levihn Public Works Operations. <br /> City Clerk: SYSTEMS 'TESTING <br /> Dave Clabots Beginning in the fall of 1998, the City began the task of <br /> Treasurer: inventorying and prioritizing all City systems. This was completed <br /> William Hesson March 1, 1999. Testing of City systems took place in April and May. Th€ <br /> Water Treatment Plants and the Wastewater Treatment Plants each <br /> City Administrator: run with the help of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition <br /> William Simmons <br /> (SCADA) computer programs. This program and the computers they rur <br /> Public Meetings on were tested in April. No problems were found that would shut down <br /> production at any plant. In addition, all of the plants can be run <br /> City Council: manually, and at capacity, even if the computers go off-line. The City <br /> The first and this Tuesdays of each purchased a new computer network in late 1998. This purchase <br /> month at 7:00 PM at City Hall included all new hardware and software. The City recently signed a new banking contract with <br /> Norwest Bank. Norwest has given us written assurance that it will be <br /> SeniorRdx't p 2 totally compliant and that the date changes will not affect our ability to <br /> W few p 2 pay our bills.
