DECLARATION OF DISASTER EMERGENCY <br /> Whereas, the City of Louisville is suffering serious damage to roads, <br /> trails, bridges, homes, businesses, and other public and private <br /> facilities throughout Louisville, but especially in areas adjacent to <br /> Coal Creek; and <br /> Whereas, this damage has been and continues to be caused by <br /> unreasonably heavy rain which started on September 10th, and which <br /> is anticipated to continue until at least September 14th; and <br /> Whereas, it is necessary to take numerous extraordinary emergency <br /> measures to protect public health, safety and property, including, but <br /> not limited to, evacuating affected areas, mitigating rising floodwaters, <br /> protecting facilities, removing debris, resolving utility issues, caring for <br /> evacuees, and restoring service: and <br /> Whereas, it is necessary to expend significant staff time and <br /> monetary resources in this effort, the magnitude of which is in excess <br /> of the City's currently budgeted and available resources; and <br /> Whereas, these conditions warrant the declaration of a DISASTER <br /> EMERGENCY; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert P. Muckle, Mayor of Louisville, <br /> Colorado, do hereby declare the City of Louisville, Colorado to be a <br /> disaster area and that Emergency Operations are in effect and will <br /> remain in effect until 12:01 am., Sunday, September 15, 2013, and <br /> that this may require the use of emergency powers granted under <br /> Chapter 2.50 of the Louisville Municipal Code. <br /> Signed:Si 9 <br /> Robert P.
