ORDINANCE NO. 1715 <br />SERIES 2016 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17.64.050 OF THE LOUISVILLE <br />MUNICIPAL CODE TO MODIFY THE MINIMUM REVIEW SCHEDULE FOR <br />REVIEW AND UPDATING OF THE CITYWIDE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />WHEREAS, the City of Louisville is a Colorado home rule municipal corporation duly <br />organized and existing under laws of the State of Colorado and the Louisville Home Rule <br />Charter; and <br />WHEREAS, by virtue of such authority, and as further authorized by state statutes, <br />including but not limited to C.R.S. § 31 -23 -206, the City has broad authority to make and adopt a <br />comprehensive plan for the physical development of the municipality; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to such authorities, on May 7, 2013, the City passed Resolution <br />No. 18, Series 2013 adopting the 2013 Update of the 2009 Citywide Comprehensive Plan <br />( "Comprehensive Plan"), which serves as a guiding document containing the policy framework <br />under which new development and redevelopment within the City will be evaluated; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the City's minimum requirement for the <br />review of the Comprehensive Plan from four years to ten years to better meet community <br />expectations; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to retain the authority to review the <br />Comprehensive Plan often as necessary; and <br />WHEREAS, after a duly noticed public hearing held December 10, 2015, where evidence <br />and testimony were entered into the record, including the Louisville Planning Commission Staff <br />Report dated December 10, 2015, the Louisville Planning Commission has recommended the City <br />Council adopt the amendments to the Louisville Municipal Code set forth in this ordinance; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has provided notice of a public hearing on said ordinance by <br />publication as provided by law and held a public hearing as provided in said notice; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend Section 17.64.050 of the Louisville <br />Municipal Code to modify the minimum review schedule for review and updating of the <br />Comprehensive Plan; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO, THAT: <br />Section 1.
