ORDINANCE NO. 1731 <br />SERIES 2017 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 9.22 AND CHAPTER 9.72 OF THE <br />LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING MINORS AND ALCOHOL AND <br />AMENDING SECTION 9.76.020 OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE <br />REGARDING POSSESSION AND CONSUMPTION OF MARIJUANA BY MINORS <br />WHEREAS, the City of Louisville is a Colorado home rule municipal corporation duly <br />organized and existing under laws of the State of Colorado and the City Charter; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is authorized by the City Charter and state law, including <br />without limitation C.R.S. § 31-15-401 et semc . to adopt and enforce regulations which may be <br />necessary for the promotion of the public peace and welfare and to impose penalties upon parties <br />who violate liquor and marijuana laws; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the Louisville Municipal Code to add <br />provisions concerning the sealing of certain municipal court records regarding alcohol and <br />marijuana offenses involving underage persons, under certain prescribed circumstances; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council further desires to amend various provisions of the Louisville <br />Municipal Code to update its alcohol and manjuana laws regarding minors, including without <br />limitation amendments to the Code to defme alcohol and marijuana offenses punishable by the <br />Louisville Municipal Court, and to remove and simplify repetitive or competing sections of the <br />Code relating to similar criminal offenses; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the amendments to the Louisville Municipal <br />Code set forth herein are in the best interests of the health, safety and welfare of the City and its <br />residents. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />Section 1. Sections 9.22.070, 9.22.080 and 9.22.090 of the Louisville Municipal <br />Code are hereby repealed in their entirety. <br />Section 2. Chapter 9.72 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended to read <br />as follows: (words to be deleted are shown in Wit; words to be added are underlined): <br />CHAPTER 9.72 <br />MINORS AND ALCOHOL <br />Sec. 9.72.010. <br />Definitions. <br />Sec. 9.72.020.
