Ft. Lauderdale gave restaurants free
parking for patrons attending the theatre. There was discussion of how we might get drawings
inexpensively so that we could present a plan and ultimately hold meetings for public comment
on the plan. Lynn W. expressed concern about where such a facility would be located and what
it would cost. Don indicated that identifying a location would require input from other,
concerned people and that it certainly could not be done cheaply. We agreed to check with
other, similar facilities to learn about costs and to contact potential resources for architectural
renderings. (Since the meeting, Don was able to make tentative arrangements with the CU
School of Architecture.) The architect(s) would need to tell us about the footprint, the design,
the facade and the cost. We discussed the need to enlist the support of people with power and
passion to spearhead the project.
7-Pictures of existing facilities were not available because of Keith's absence.
8-Box Models
Lynn Wooten provided a box model of an art gallery. We discussed starting with graph paper
and construction paper to establish a floor plan first.
