Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />June 16, 2008 <br />City Hall <br />749 Main Street <br />7:00 PM <br />Call to Order -Chairperson Heather Lewis called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. <br />Roll Call: <br />Commission Members Present: <br />Mike Koertje, Heather Lewis, Greg McMenamin, Todd Menza, <br />Melanie Julian Muckle, and Stephen Whiteman <br />Commission Members Absent: <br />Laurel Tofte <br />City Representatives: <br />Meredyth Muth, Public Relations Manager <br />Approval of Agenda <br />Muckle moved to approve the agenda, <br />unanimously approved. <br />Koertje seconded in the motion. It was <br />Approval of Minutes -May 19, 2008 <br />Koertje asked for clarification of one section of the minutes. After hearing the <br />clarification, he determined he had no changes to the minutes as written. Whiteman <br />moved to approve the minutes, Koertje seconded in the motion. It was unanimously <br />approved. <br />Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda -None <br />Discussion/Direction/Action -Preservation Ordinance Amendments <br />Continued from May 19 <br />Muth explained that at the March 19 HPC meeting there was a discussion regarding how <br />best to amend the preservation ordinance so that the demolition review process works <br />more cohesively with the planning process. The outcome of that meeting was to change <br />the draft amendments to include the following: <br />• Demolition review could be triggered by formally pulling a demolition permit (as it <br />is currently written); <br />• Demolition review could be triggered by a referral from the Planning Department <br />when it is part of a Planned Unit Development (PUD)/Special Review Use (SRU) <br />process; <br />• Creation of a way for a building owner to come speak to the Commission about <br />the historic significance of a site in preparation for a remodel or demolition <br />without having to pull a demolition permit and without compromising the <br />City of Louisville <br />City Manager's Office 749 Main Street Louisville CO 80027 <br />303.335.4536 (phone) 303.335.4550 (fax) www.ci.louisville.co.us <br />
