ORDINANCE NO. 1755 SERIES 2018 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 14 OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE ADDING A NEW CHAPTER 14.20 REGARDING PUBLIC ART WHEREAS, the City of Louisville is a Colorado home rule municipal corporation duly organized and existing under laws of the State of Colorado and the City Charter; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish factors to guide the City's acquisition of art and its placement on public property and in public buildings within the City; and WHEREAS, the City has previously created and established a Cultural Council to advise the City Council on matters relating to the local arts community and sponsoring local arts and cultural programs, and WHEREAS, pursuant to the City Charter, all city boards and commissions are advisory in character unless otherwise provided in the charter or by ordinance; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to grant the Cultural Council decision-making authonty as to the City's acquisition of art and its placement on public property in accordance with certain factors; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to retain the authority to review decisions of the Cultural Council, NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: Section 1. Title 14 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended to add a new Chapter 14.20, to read as follows Chapter 14.20 PUBLIC ART Sec. 14.20.010. Purpose Sec. 14.20.020.
