Recorded as received. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 21 <br />SERIES 2018 <br />A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE HARNEY HOUSE LOCATED AT 620 GRANT <br />AVENUE A HISTORIC LANDMARK <br />WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Council an application requesting <br />a landmark eligibility determination for a histoncal residential structure located on 620 Grant <br />Avenue, on property legally described as Lot 4-5, Block 12, Pleasant Hill, Town of <br />Louisville, City of Louisville, State of Colorado, and <br />WHEREAS, the City Staff and the Louisville Historic Preservation Commission <br />have reviewed the application and found it to be in compliance with Chapter 15.36 of <br />the Louisville Municipal Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the Louisville Histonc Preservation Commission held a properly <br />noticed public heanng on the proposed landmark application and has forwarded to the City <br />Council a recommendation of approval; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has duly considered the proposed landmark <br />application and the Commission's recommendation and report, and has held a properly <br />noticed public heanng on the application; and <br />WHEREAS, the building was constructed between 1905 and 1906, and has <br />architectural significance because it is a vernacular structure with Folk Victorian decorative <br />features that exemplifies specific elements of an architectural style; and <br />WHEREAS, the building has because it exemplifies the cultural, political, economic <br />or social heritage of the community considering its association with the Harney Family and <br />Slovakian immigrants, and <br />WHEREAS, the gable shed located along the alley of the property is not included in <br />this landmark designation; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that these and other characteristics specific to <br />the individual structure are of both architectural and social significance as described in <br />Section 15 36 050 (A) of the Louisville Municipal Code and justify the approval of the <br />historic landmark application <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />Resolution No 21, Senes 2018 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
