G.R. Henning and Marguerite Lay Henning <br />played important leadership and charitable roles in the town's affairs. <br />Overview of 820, 836, & 844 Main Street, Louisville, Colorado <br />This report has been prepared as one of three related reports on 820, 836, and 844 <br />Main. (This overview section is the same in all three reports.) These three properties are <br />known as the Marketplace Building, Mossoni House, and Henning Mortuary and they <br />are located on the northern section of the east side of the 800 block of Main Street in <br />Louisville. They are owned by 844 Main Street Associates LLC. The properties occupy 31/2 <br />lots out of the 6 lots on that block, which is one of the blocks of original Louisville <br />platted by Louis Nawatny in 1878. The following photo from circa 1948 shows the area, <br />with the area that today constitutes 820, 836, and 844 Main outlined in red. <br />Although there are just three addresses, they represent six historic structures plus <br />additional outbuildings. The Henning Mortuary building, the Mossoni House, the <br />residence behind the Mossoni House, and the structures that comprise the Marketplace <br />Building are all older than the buildings next to them on the south side of that block due <br />to there having been a fire that destroyed the buildings on the south side of the block in <br />1926 (covering 2 % lots out of the 6).
