RESOLUTION NO. 2 <br />SERIES 2019 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF <br />LOUISVILLE AND NORAA CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION FOR <br />CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR THE LOUISVILLE-LAFAYETTE QUIET ZONE <br />PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, the City issued an Invitation to Bid for construction services for the <br />construction phase of the Louisville -Lafayette Quiet Zone Project, which includes asphalt removal <br />and reconstruction, concrete sidewalk construction, curb and gutter removal/replacement, median <br />construction, patching, leveling, pavement marking, signing and traffic control, and all work <br />appurtenant thereto, on Pine Street, Griffith Street and South Boulder Road in the vicinity of the <br />BNSF Railway track crossing within the City of Louisville, Colorado, and on Baseline Road within <br />the City of Lafayette (the "Project"), and <br />WHEREAS, City staff advertised the Project and received six (6) bids, which bids have <br />been reviewed by the City's Public Works Department; and <br />WHEREAS, the Public Works Department recommends approval of a contract with <br />NORAA Concrete Construction Corporation ("NORAA") per their low bid of $375,922.20, and <br />WHEREAS, a contract between the City and NORAA has been proposed for such purpose <br />(the "Contract"), and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed Contract is in the best mterests of the <br />City and its citizens, and by this resolution desires to approve the Contract and authorize its execution, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO• <br />1 The City Council hereby approves that certain Agreement by and between the City <br />of Louisville and NORAA Concrete Construction Corporation for Construction Services for the <br />Louisville -Lafayette Quiet Zone Project (the "Contract"), in essentially the same form as the copy <br />of such Contract accompanying this Resolution. <br />2. The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute change orders in <br />accordance with the terms of the Contract, up to a total not to exceed $56,389 00, and <br />3 The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute the Contract on behalf <br />of the City Council of the City of Louisville, except that the Mayor is hereby further authorized to <br />negotiate and approve such revisions to the Contract as the Mayor determines are necessary or <br />Resolution No. 2, Series 2019 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
