RESOLUTION NO. 03 <br />SERIES 2017 <br />A RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING THE <br />LANDMARK DESIGNATION FOR A STRUCTURE LOCATED ON 720 PINE STREET <br />WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the Louisville Historic Preservation <br />Commission (HPC) an application requesting a landmark eligibility determination for 720 <br />Pine Street, to be named the Agatha Stecker House, on property legally described as Lot <br />4, Block 7, Jefferson Place, Town of Louisville City of Louisville, State of Colorado; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Staff and the HPC have reviewed the application and found it <br />to be in compliance with Chapter 15.36 of the Louisville Municipal Code, including Section <br />15.36.050.A, establishing criteria for landmark designation; and <br />WHEREAS, the HPC has held a properly noticed public hearing on the proposed <br />landmark application; and <br />WHEREAS, 720 Pine has social significance because the structure is associated <br />with the European (Austrian) immigrant coal -mining families who flocked to Colorado's <br />coal -mining communities in the late 19th and early 20t centuries; <br />WHEREAS, 720 Pine has architectural significance because the structure is an <br />example of Craftsman -style houses in early 20th-century Louisville; and <br />WHEREAS, the HPC finds that these and other characteristics specific to 720 Pine <br />have social and architectural significance as described in Section 15.36.050.A of the <br />Louisville Municipal Code; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />The application to landmark 720 Pine Street be approved for the above -stated reasons. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED tip 17th day of July 2017. <br />Lynda Haley, Chairperson <br />C\ h c \c,YAbur/ v I CL Cac:tr <br />1 <br />
