<br /> follows:
<br /> Section 22. It shall be unlawful
<br /> for any person or persons, firm or
<br /> corporation, to sell, offer for sale,
<br /> barter, peddle or trade any mer-
<br /> chandise by retail, in this town un-
<br /> less such party or parties is or are
<br /> residents of the Town of Louisville,
<br /> any carrying a stock of goods, sub-
<br /> ject to taxation, in said Town of
<br /> Louisville, or unless such party or
<br /> parties shall obtain a license there-
<br /> -for in accordance with the provis-
<br /> ions of this ordinance or the ordi-
<br /> nances heretofore or hereafter
<br /> adopted by the said Town.
<br /> Section 2. That Section 23 of
<br /> Ordinance Number 45 of the Re-
<br /> vised Ordinances of 1906 of the
<br /> Town of Louisville, entitled "An
<br /> Ordinance amending an Ordinance
<br /> (concerning licenses and repeal cer-
<br /> tain ordinances, passed June 9,
<br /> 190i," be and the same is hereby
<br /> amended to read as follows:
<br /> Section 23. The Town Clerk may
<br /> issue a peddler's license directly to
<br /> any applicant, upon the payment to
<br /> him of the following named sums,
<br /> for the following named periods of 1
<br /> time for the respective classes of
<br /> peddlers described in this Section,
<br /> and shall keep the Town Marshal
<br /> supplied with such licenses in blank
<br /> and signed by the Clerk, all of
<br /> which blank licenses shall be con-
<br /> secutively numbered as they are de-
<br /> -tached from his register, and in
<br /> case of blanxs furnished tb the
<br /> Town Marshal as aforesaid, the
<br /> - Clerk shall enter on the margin of
<br /> each stub, the following words in
<br /> red ink: "Issued to Town Marshal
<br /> in blank," and shall number each
<br /> such stubs consecutively, and cor-
<br /> responding with the numbering on
<br /> the portion of licenses detached, and
<br /> the Town Marshal shall from time
<br /> to time, report to the Clerk as to_
<br /> any licenses issued to him and de-
<br /> livered to any licensee, as to the
<br /> date, name and class of licensee,
<br /> and period covered by such licenses,'
<br /> and the Clerk thereupon shall from
<br /> such data supplied to him by the
<br /> Town Marshal enter such informa-
<br /> tion on the respective stubs and the
<br /> Town Marshal shall, at the expira-
<br /> tion of his term of office or any
<br /> prior termination thereof, turn over
<br /> to tie Town Clerk any unused or
<br /> unissued licenses for cancellation,
<br /> and the Town Clerk shall enter the
<br /> fact of such cancellation on the
<br /> ,stub corresponding to any and ev-
<br /> ery such cancelled license.
<br /> ,The party or persons required by,
<br /> Section 22 of this Ordinance, tol
<br /> obtain a license for carrying on the
<br /> pursuit or bu��iness therein des-,
<br /> cribed, and qe)fined, shall be di•$
