Sept. 27th 1937 Resolution and Protest RegardiruL the North- <br /> drawal of Lands in Grand County Colorado affecting the approach to <br /> and Development of the Moffat Tunnel. Whereas :; The Town. of Louisville <br /> obtains the municipal water suniy from South Boulder Creek which <br /> its tributary to the Moffat Pioneer Tunnel: Whereas, Certain Ditch <br /> Companies have the same source of supply and have heretofore petitioned <br /> The Moffat Tunnel Commission to fix a usable rate for the supplemental <br /> use of otherwise wasted water to East Portal of said Tunnel: <br /> Whereas;; These ditch companies irrigate land in adjacent to the <br /> Tunnel District and also adjacent to the Town of Louisville, and <br /> must look to the Moffat Tunnel sources for water to supplement their <br /> existingyrights and; Whereas the Board of County Commissioners of <br /> Boulder County, Adams County and of 51kferson County have heretofore <br /> expressed themselves, by Resolution th the Moffat Tunnes Commission <br /> regarding the supplemental use of the said Tunnel and; Whereas The <br /> Town of Louisville which increas.d grot4h and resultant demand for <br /> additional supply only from the further development of the Moffat <br /> Tunnel water shed. whereas the request of the Reclamation Service <br /> to the Secretary of Interior to with draw lands or obstruct the <br /> granting of rights of way which must be obtained for ditches to serve <br /> approach to the Moffat Tunnel would in affect such approach and there. <br /> by curtail full development of this expensive improvement to the <br /> injury of this entire community. Now therefore be it Resolved that <br /> this Town Protests the withdraw], of lands in Grand County which <br /> lies in the .eraser liver Basin as is requested by the Reclamation <br /> Service. Be it further Resolved that this town supports the Moffat <br /> Tunnel .Commisions the united efforts of the tax payers of the <br /> Tunnei' District, the County Commissionera and Citizens in their efforts <br /> to protect and fully develop this important improvement in accordance <br /> with the Moffat Tunnel Law. It was then moved by Moore that the <br /> Resolution be adopted as read and a copy be sent to the Moffat Tunnel <br /> Company, Ihe other to the Forest Service of Reclamation Bureau. <br /> Seconded by Varley. <br /> _ _ <br />
