L�ity0 <br />Ltiii11 <br />COLORADO • SINCE 187E <br />Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Pride Month Proclamation <br />June 2o2o <br />Whereas, Louisville has a diverse LGBTQ community that includes people of many races, <br />ethnicities, religions, and professions; and <br />Whereas, diversity is a community asset that enhances and enriches the lives of all community <br />members; and <br />Whereas, the bravery and courage of those who fought for dignity and equality at the <br />Stonewall Inn over 50 years ago continue to inspire advocates and allies in Louisville as they <br />continue to build community of inclusiveness and acceptance; and, <br />Whereas, LGBTQ rights are human rights; and <br />Whereas, the fight for dignity and equality for LGBTQ people is reflected in the tireless <br />dedication of advocates and allies who strive to make this a more inclusive society; and <br />Whereas, no matter who you love or what your gender identity is, you are welcome in <br />Louisville; and <br />Whereas, during the month of June, residents of Louisville are encouraged to join together to <br />celebrate and honor the history, diversity and the resilience of the LGBTQ communities; and <br />Whereas, despite staying apart from each other to address the COVID-19 pandemic, we remain <br />in this together as a community, working towards a better future; and <br />Whereas, Louisville honors its commitment to the promotion and protection of the human <br />rights of LGBTQ residents. <br />Now therefore, be it resolved by the City Council of the Louisville, Colorado, that the month of <br />June 2020, is recognized as Louisville's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Pride <br />Month and urges all residents to respect and honor our diverse community and celebrate and <br />build a culture of inclusiveness and acceptance. <br />DATED this end day June, 2020 <br />ATTEST: <br />I I- - �,_ - - <br />Meredyth Muth, City Clerk <br />
