I am so respectful of the care, passion, and
emotion that make Louisville such a great city, but can

ing views without resorting to personal accusations and
confrontations?
With the holiday season approaching and the election now in the rear view
differences aside and plan for mak-
ing Louisville the best community for our citizens by achieving a consensus of
is so critical for
aftermath of the most recent election is so
potentially polarizing, it makes it imperative for us to collaborate not only as
differing and yet respectful views.
I am reminded that historically Louisville has risen to the occasion. To that
end, I, as your Mayor, pledge my support and leadership to insure this hap-
111ere are so many exciting opportunities for our Downtown Louisville
to be even better, and in combination with the renovations to the Louisville
Middle School, as the adage goes "you haven't seen nothing yet."
As we embark, we must be mindful of our commitment to keeping the
values and character of Louisville without the fear of change alone. Goodness
knows where we would be without changes in Louisville. Many would argue
change has been for the better!! As a history major and Colorado native, I
want our history to be preserved and reflected and this often times is in con-
flict with modifications, alterations, and new buildings. To that end, we make
educated and intelligent choices. In Louisville, that means candid conversa-
tions with open, extremely intelligent, and well informed constituents. (And
yes, even passionate citizens!!)
As many of you know, this is a special time of the year in the Sisk family
and with our daughter, Jennie, coming home from the middle of her third
year at Wellesley College, our sons, Michael and Brian and families, being in
the immediate area, it allows Terre and me to really focus on what is most im-
portant to us and that is, of course, our family!! We, in Louisville, have always
been gracious to those that may not be so fortunate, so I urge all of us to look
around and see where we can extend ourselves outside our immediate fami-
lies. To our citizens, my family wishes each of you a Merry Christmas, Happy
Hanukah, and Happy New Year.

City of Louisville - www.ci.louisville.co.us
