ORDINANCE NO. 1281 <br />SERIES 1998 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 17 OF THE LOUISVILLE <br />MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADD A DEFINITION OF EXTENDED STAY <br />LODGING FACILITY AND TO ALLOW SUCH FACILITIES IN THE <br />COMMERCIAL-BUSINESS (C-B) ZONE DISTRICT AS A USE BY <br />SPECIAL REVIEW SUBJECT TO CERTAIN REGULATIONS. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, C.R.S. §31-23-301 et seq. authorizes the City to <br />establish zoning districts within the City and to regulate and <br />restrict the use of buildings, structures and land within such <br />districts; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council believes it is in the best interest <br />of the City and its citizens to amend the zoning regulations of the <br />City to add a definition of "extended stay lodging facility", as a <br />commercial use distinct from other commercial uses currently <br />addressed in the City zoning regulations; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council further believes it is in the best <br />interest of the City and its citizens to amend the zoning <br />regulations of the City to allow extended stay lodging facilities <br />in the Commercial Business (C-B) zone district as a use by special <br />review subject to certain regulations; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, City Council has provided notice of a public hearing <br />on said amendments by publication as provided by law and held a <br />public hearing as provided in said notice; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Louisville Planning Commission, after notice and <br />hearing, has recommended the City Council approve the amendments to <br />the City zoning regulations as set forth in this ordinance. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Chapter 17.08 of the Louisville Municipal Code, <br />entitled "Definitions" is hereby amended by the addition of the <br />following definition to be inserted alphabetically into said <br />section: <br /> <br />Extended Stay Lodging Facility. Extended Stay Lodging <br />Facility means an establishment that provides temporary <br />lodging used only for transient occupancy in units of one or <br />more rooms which may contain a bathroom and kitchen with <br />limited cooking facilities, and in which daily housekeeping <br />services and 24-hour front desk services shall be available. <br /> <br /> Section 2. Section 17.08.215 of the Louisville Municipal <br />Code, defining "Guestroom", is hereby amended to read as follows <br />(words deleted are stricken through; words added are underlined): <br /> <br /> <br />
