Cityo <br />r Louisville <br />COLORADO - SINCE 1878 <br />Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Pride Month Proclamation <br />June 2021 <br />Whereas, Louisville has a diverse LGBTQ community that includes people of many <br />races, ethnicities, religions, and professions; and <br />Whereas, diversity is a community asset that enhances and enriches the lives of all <br />community members; and <br />Whereas, the bravery and courage of those who fought for dignity and equality at the <br />Stonewall Inn over 50 years ago continue to inspire advocates and allies in Louisville as <br />they continue to build community of inclusiveness and acceptance; and, <br />Whereas, LGBTQ rights are human rights; and <br />Whereas, the fight for dignity and equality for LGBTQ people is reflected in the tireless <br />dedication of advocates and allies who strive to make this a more inclusive society; and <br />Whereas, no matter who you love or what your gender identity is, you are welcome in <br />Louisville; and <br />Whereas, during the month of June, residents of Louisville are encouraged to join <br />together to celebrate and honor the history, diversity, and resilience of the LGBTQ <br />communities; and <br />Whereas, Louisville honors its commitment to the promotion and protection of the <br />human rights of LGBTQ residents. <br />Now therefore, be it resolved by the City Council of the Louisville, Colorado, that the <br />month of June 2021, is recognized as Louisville's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, <br />and Queer Pride Month and urges all residents to respect and honor our diverse <br />community and celebrate and build a culture of inclusiveness and acceptance. <br />DATED this 1st day of June, 2021 <br />ATTEST: <br />aill As ley Stemann, ayor <br />Meredyth Muth, City Clerk <br />
