ORDINANCE NO. 1355 <br />SERIES 2001 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE INITIATING THE ADOPTION OF A HOME RULE CHARTER FOR <br />THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO, AND PROVIDING FOR THE ELECTION <br />OF CHARTER COMMISSION MEMBERS. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Municipal Home Rule Act of 1971, C.R.S. {}31-2-201 et seq., as <br />amended, authorizes the City Council to initiate, by ordinance, the adoption of a home rule charter; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council desires to initiate the adoption of a home rule charter for the <br />City of Louisville. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Initiation of Home Rule. That the following question be submitted to a vote <br />of the registered electors of the City of Louisville, in accordance with the provisions of Article XX <br />of the Colorado Constitution and the Municipal Home Rule Act of 1971, at a special election to be <br />held on the first day of May, 2001. <br /> <br />Shall the City of Louisville form a home rule charter commission? <br /> <br /> Section 2. That at such election, the registered electors shall also elect a total of eleven <br />(11) members to the charter commission, all of whom shall be elected at-large and all of whom <br />shall take office if the formation of the charter commission is approved by the registered electors. <br /> <br /> INTRODUCED, READ, PASSED <br />PUBLISHED this 16th day of January, 2001. <br /> <br />ON FIRST READING, AND ORDERED <br /> <br />Tom Davidson, Mayor <br /> <br />Nancy varr~t, ~itJ Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
