PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, Americans traditionally have volunteered their <br />time, talent and energy to help one another and their communities; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, the active involvement of citizens is needed <br />today more than ever to combat growing human and social problems, <br />to renew our belief that these problems can be solved, and to renew <br />our sense of community; and, <br />WHEREAS, volunteering offers all citizens the opportunity <br />to participate in the life of their community and to gain new skills <br />and widened horizons; and, <br />WHEREAS, it has been conclusively demonstrated time and <br />time again that citizens, working individually and collectively, <br />CAN make a difference; and, <br />WHEREAS, National Volunteer Week offers a special opportunity <br />to publicly celebrate the accomplishments of the millions of people <br />who volunteer and to encourage everyone to get involved; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, Norbert Meier, Mayor of the City of <br />Louisville, Colorado, do hereby proclaim the week of April 18 <br />through April 24, 1932, as Volunteer Week. <br />///�" A &,— <br />Mayor <br />ATT EST : <br />City Clerk <br />
