" P RO C LAn'!AT I ON " <br />Volunteer Recognition Week <br />WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Louisville thrive <br />on helping others to a better life; and, <br />WHEREAS, volunteerism has always been an essential part <br />of the spirit and traditions of this Country, so that today one out <br />of every four Americans is making a gift of time and talent to some <br />kind of volunteer service - helping others or working for a cause; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, the State has established the Office of Voluntary <br />Citizen Participation in order to encourage and coordinate volunteer <br />efforts throughout the State; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is fitting that a period of time be set aside <br />each year to honor and to thank the dedicated citizens of Colorado <br />who give so freely of their valuable time, energy, and abilities as <br />volunteers; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I,Lawrence P. Caranci, Mayor of the City <br />of Louisville, Colorado, do hereby proclaim the week of April 27th <br />through May 3rd, 1981, as "Volunteer Recognition Week" in the City <br />and community of Louisville and urge all citizens to help to renew <br />and sustain the spirit and vitality of this great Nation by committing <br />a portion of their time - however small - to addressing the needs <br />of our community through voluntary action. <br />WITNESS MY HAND AND SEAL OF OUR CITY THIS 7TH <br />DAY OF AP;IL , 1981. <br />MAYOR <br />
