LL C�tyof <br />Louisville <br />COLORADO -SINCE 1878 <br />Proclamation <br />Louisville, Colorado Italian -American Heritage Day <br />Whereas: On the second Sunday in August the Louisville Society of Italian Americans <br />celebrates La Festa to honor the achievements and contributions of Italian immigrants and their <br />descendants living in Louisville, Colorado. <br />Whereas: the contributions and legacy of Italians and Italian -Americans played a vital role in <br />making Louisville the vibrant and notable city that it is; and <br />Whereas: it is fitting and appropriate to proclaim a permanent day to celebrate the contributions <br />by the Italian community to our city; and <br />Whereas: the goal of the day is to invite the public to the annual La Festa Italiano di Louisville <br />to celebrate the rich culture that Italians brought to our city; and <br />Whereas: such a commemoration will bring people of goodwill together to gain a greater <br />appreciation for the roles played by Italians and Italian -Americans in shaping our city; and <br />Whereas: such a day encouraging cultural awareness will contribute to vital understanding and <br />mutual respect for the bonds that hold our society together; and <br />Whereas: such an observance of an Italian Heritage Day will be inclusive of all members of the <br />community and reaffirm the importance of celebrating a part of Louisville's mixture of cultural <br />identities. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT BE ORDERED by the Louisville, Colorado City Council, that in <br />tribute to Louisville's Italian community, past and present, that the second Sunday of August, is <br />hereby proclaimed, in perpetuity, Italian -American Heritage Day in the city of Louisville, <br />Colorado. <br />DATED this 3rd day of October, 2022 <br />ATTEST: <br />SEAL <br />04 'At'� <br />Ashley St z ann, Mayor <br />Meredyth Muth, City Clerk <br />
