Per City Council Meeting Minutes, this proclamation was read by Mayor Meier during the <br />March 20, 1984 Meeting. <br />EXECUTIVE ORDER <br />COLORADO POISON PREVENTION WEEK <br />MARCH 18 - 24, 1984 <br />A PROCLAMATION <br />Whereas, all citizens should be made aware of the ever-present dangers posed <br />by potentially poisonous household substances; <br />Whereas, our youngsters too often have access to commonly -used drugs and <br />medicines and to such potentially toxic household products as polishes, cleaners, <br />lighter fluids, anti -freeze, and paint solvents; <br />Whereas, the informational and educational achievements of many of our <br />State's official and voluntary organizations have been instrumental in awakening <br />individuals to the need for poison prevention, including the proper use of child <br />protective packaging; <br />And Whereas, our efforts have substantially reduced the incidence of childhood <br />poisonings, it is clear that as long as one child is accidentally poisoned, our efforts <br />must continue. <br />Now; Therefore, I, , <br />Mayor of do hereby proclaim March 18-24, 1984 <br />as Poison Prevention Week in this City. Further, I call on all those official and <br />voluntary organizations that have done so much, up to this point, to continue their <br />efforts until we can point to the elimination of poisoning as a significant health <br />hazard to our children. <br />In witness whereof I have <br />hereunto set my hand and caused <br />the seal of this City to be affixed. <br />Mayor. <br />Date <br />
