Klubert Warembourg <br /> Fishing Pond <br /> WHEREAS, Klubert Warembourg is the third generation Warembourg born in Louisville, and; <br /> WHEREAS, after a short career in coal mining and serving in the Air Force in World War II, <br /> Klubert returned to farming, and; <br /> WHEREAS, in 1943 Klubert purchased the 144 acres now known as the Warembourg Farm and <br /> began restoration, improvements and land stewardship, and; <br /> WHEREAS, Klubert worked closely with the United Stated Department of Agriculture Natural <br /> Resource Conservation Service to make his farm productive and abundant with wildlife, and; <br /> WHEREAS, Klubert, with the USDA, designed and built two ponds on the property providing <br /> irrigation for nearly 100 acres, and; <br /> WHEREAS, Klubert kept the southern pond well-stocked and used it to teach his daughter, son <br /> and numerous grandchildren the art of fishing and patience, and; <br /> WHEREAS, in 1995 Klubert and Helen Warembourg sold fifty acres of land to the City of <br /> Louisville, and; <br /> WHEREAS,Klubert Warembouerg has been an outstanding steward of land in the City of <br /> Louisville for over fifty years. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that I Mayor Tom Davidson do hereby proclaim the newly <br /> enlarged and renovated fishing pond on the City's Open Space to be named the Klubert Warembourg <br /> Fishing Pond and encourage all citizens to enjoy this addition to the quality of life in Louisville. <br /> Dated this 7th day of August, 2001 <br /> ZWVV <br /> UPS � ` L <br /> L • - It Tom Davidson, Mayor <br /> C.) tc% <br /> • <br /> * SEAL <br /> Itt' ST: O je <br /> i I ` OM/ <br /> Nancy Va a, City Clerk <br />
