Historic Preservation Week <br /> May 13-19, 2001 <br /> WHEREAS, historic preservation is an effective tool for managing growth, <br /> revitalizing neighborhoods, fostering local pride and maintaining <br /> community character while enhancing livability; <br /> WHEREAS, historic preservation is relevant for communities across the nation, both <br /> urban and rural, and for Americans of all ages, all walks of life and all <br /> ethnic backgrounds; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is important to celebrate the role of history in our lives and <br /> contributions made by dedicated individuals in helping to preserve the <br /> tangible aspects of the heritage that has shaped us as a people; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Louisville has made the preservation of our unique culture <br /> and coal mining past a priority with the creation and continued support <br /> of the Louisville Historical Commission; and <br /> WHEREAS, the National Trust for Historic Preservation has proclaimed May 13-19, <br /> 2001 as Preservation Week. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Tom Davidson, Mayor of the City of <br /> Louisville, Colorado, do hereby proclaim May, 13-19, as National Historic <br /> Preservation Week in the City of Louisville, Colorado and encourage all residents to <br /> explore the riches available at the Louisville Historical Museum. <br /> Dated this 14th day of May, 2001 <br /> • <br /> Ai n� igl/ Tom Davidson, Mayor <br /> Q' <br /> atikIALCVIA 9s / <br /> r'• <br /> Nancy Van?, City Clerk <br />
