WALK OUR CHILDREN TO SCHOOL DAY <br />WHEREAS, The City of Louisville provides beautiful, accessible and well -maintained walkways for <br />students, parents, faculty, staff and the community to get to area schools; and, <br />WHEREAS, The number of people that drive to area schools continues to increase; and, <br />WHEREAS, Students should be taught and encouraged to walk to school safely, looking left and right <br />before crossing and crossing at designated cross walks; and, <br />WHEREAS, Our community is encouraged to enjoy the beauty and health benefits of walking to area <br />schools; and, <br />WHEREAS, Walking to school brings the community together. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Tom Davidson, Mayor of the City of Louisville, <br />Colorado, along with the City Council, do hereby proclaim October 4, 2000 as Walk Our Children to <br />School Day 2000 in Louisville, and encourage everyone on this day, and every day, to consider the <br />importance and safety of walking in our community. <br />DATED this 3rd day of October, 2000 <br />ri7,.,, 1 �►�'t� <br />Tom Davidson, Mayor <br />ATTE <br />Nancy Varra, C.ty Clerk <br />
