PUBLIC SERVICE RECOGNITION WEEK <br />May I-7,2011 <br />WHEREAS, Americans and the citizens of Louisville are served every single day by public <br />servants at the federal, state, county, and city levels; and <br />WHEREAS, these unsung heroes do the work that keeps our city and nation working; and <br />WHEREAS, many public servants, including military personnel, police officers, firefighters, <br />border patrol officers, embassy employees, health care professionals and others, <br />risk their lives each day in service to the people of the United States, around the <br />world, and in Louisville; and <br />WHEREAS, public servants include teachers, information technology professionals, librarians <br />and museum staff, water and wastewater plant employees, civil engineers, street <br />and utility staff, city planners, building safety staff, support staff in finance, <br />human resources, city management and court functions, parks and recreation staff, <br />senior center services, facilities staff, and countless other occupations; and <br />WHEREAS, day in and day out these humble public servants provide the diverse services vital <br />to Americans with efficiency and integrity; and <br />WHEREAS, without these public servants at every level, continuity would be impossible in a <br />democracy that regularly changes its leaders and elected officials; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Mayor Charles Sisk, hereby proclaim <br />May 1-7, 2011 PUBLIC SERVICE RECOGNITION WEEK and call on all citizens to join <br />with us in recognizing the accomplishments and contributions of government employees at <br />all levels — federal, state, county, and city. <br />DATED this 3rd day of May 2011. <br />IR-- <br />Charles Sisk, Mayor <br />C�o <br />ATTEST: <br />Rx <br />Qh�4A• <br />Nancy V rra, City Clerk <br />
