AGREEMENT <br />This agreement made and entered into this o7 7 day of April, <br />1976, between Richard Stephenson,hereinafter referred to as Sculptor, <br />and the City of Louisville Bicentennial Committee, Now Witnesseth; <br />1. The Sculptor does hereby agree to sculp a life size <br />figure six feet in height i►�c dTrtg apse a ; c ;matel� �— t ± Et L%C� <br />Mich of a coal miner approximating drawings and model heretofore <br />submitted by sculptor with minor modifications to improve esthetic <br />or sculptural elements at the discretion of the sculptor. <br />2. The material to be used by the sculptor is a silicone bronze <br />with a one -quarter inch wall thickness with a finish per sample submitted. <br />3. The total cost including all materials and labor, delivery <br />to sight and installation shall be the sum of Five Thousand Two Hundred <br />and Sixty Dollars ($5,260.00). <br />4. The cost of the project shall be paid as follows: <br />(a) Three Thousand Dollars shall be paid as an initial <br />retainer prior to the beginning of the project which sum shall <br />be paid at the time of execution of this contract. <br />(b) One Thousand Dollars shall be payable at the completion <br />of a model pattern. <br />(c) One Thousand Dollars shall be payable at the completion <br />of casting in the foundry. <br />(d) Two Hundred and Sixty Dollars shall be payable at the <br />completion of the installation. <br />5. The sculptor shall retain all copyrights arising out of the <br />production of the statue and the making and dissemination of any repro- <br />ductions or copies of the sculpture shall be the right of the sculptor. <br />The sculpture shall bear the visible signature of the artist. <br />6. The sculptor does guarantee all material and workmanship <br />for a period of five years and agrees to repair the same without cost <br />
