ORDINANCE NO. 1401 <br />SERIES 2002 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A HISTORIC PRESERVATION <br />COMMISSION AS REQUIRED BY THE HOME RULE CHARTER, TO <br />SERVE AS AN ADVISORY COMMISSION TO THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Home Rule Charter of the City of Louisville, Colorado, approved <br />by the voters in an election held on Tuesday, November 6, 2001 requires that the City <br />Council establish a Historic Preservation Commission; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the purpose of this Ordinance is to establish the Historic <br />Preservation Commission, which Commission, pursuant to the Home Rule Charter, <br />shall not be abolished; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, members of said Historic Preservation Commission shall serve in an <br />advisory capacity to the City Council; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said Commission shall make recommendations to the City Council <br />that will enable the City of Louisville to be eligible for certification by the State Historical <br />Preservation Office (SHPO) as a Colorado Certified Local Government (CLG); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the term, responsibilities, policies and other matters concerning the <br />Historic Preservation Commission established by this Ordinance shall be as established <br />by City Council resolution. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Title 2 of the Louisville Municipal Code is amended by the addition of <br />a new Chapter 2.66, to read as follows: <br /> <br />Chapter 2.66 <br /> <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />Sec. 2.66.010 <br />Sec. 2.66.020 <br />Sec. 2.66.030 <br /> <br />Created. <br />Members. <br />Powers and duties. <br /> <br />Sec. 2.66.010. Created. <br /> <br /> There is created and established a Historic Preservation <br />Commission for the City, which hereinafter in this chapter is referred to as <br />the "Commission." <br /> <br /> <br />
