The following persons were <br />present - <br /> <br />City Council: Mayor Tom Davidson, Tom Mayer, John Keany, <br />Michele Van Pelt, and Arnold Levihn <br /> <br />Staff Present: Bill Simmons, City Manager <br />Julie Boyd, Deputy City Manager <br />Heather Balser, Assistant to the City Manager <br />Tom Phare, Public Works Director <br />Charlene Laus, Finance Director <br />Bruce Goodman, Chief of Police <br />Cindy Lair, Land Management Director <br />Keith Williams, Recreation & Senior Services Director <br />Belinda Goebel, Administrative Assistant <br /> <br />Others Present: Bruce Joss, Louisville Municipal Judge <br /> Nancy Varra, City Clerk <br /> <br />Bill Simmons explained that it was recently brought to his attention that Ordinance No. 1395, Series <br />2002, An Ordinance Submitting To The Registered Electors At The November 5, 2002, Special <br />Election A Ballot Issue Concerning Continuation Of The City Sales And Use Tax For Open Space <br />Acquisition, Development, Maintenance And Related Purposes contains the statement that the <br />money can be used for “any other lawful municipal purpose”, which is not correct. <br /> <br />Julie Boyd stated that Sam Light, City Attorney, proposes three options for Council to correct the <br />ordinance: <br /> <br />1.redo adoption of the ordinance <br /> <br />2.approve an ordinance amending the original ordinance <br /> <br />3.approve an emergency ordinance at the 8/20/02 meeting with the following provisions: (1) <br />setting the ballot title and (2) removing the old ballot title <br /> <br /> <br /> 1 <br /> <br />
