<br /> <br />CITY OF LOUISVILLE <br /> <br />February 24, 2004 <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Louisville met in a study session at 7:00 p.m. in the meeting room of <br />the Louisville Public Library, 950 Spruce Street, Louisville, Colorado. The following persons were <br />present - <br /> <br />City Council: Mayor Chuck Sisk, Arnie Levihn, Sheri Marsella, Don <br />Brown, Dave Clabots and Michele Van Pelt <br /> <br />Staff Present: Bill Simmons, City Manager <br />Julie Boyd, Deputy City Manager <br />Meredyth Muth, Community Facilitator <br />Keith Williams, Rec & Sr Svcs Director (7:45 p.m.) <br />Cindy Lair, Land Management Director (7:45 p.m.) <br />Kathy Martin, Rec & Sr Services Superintendent <br />(7:45 p.m.) <br />Belinda Goebel, Administrative Assistant <br /> <br /> <br />Discussion/Direction – Draft Historic Preservation Ordinance <br />Meredyth Muth introduced the following Historic Preservation Committee members: Michael <br />Koertje, Alicia Mahoney, Melanie Muckle, Dana Echohawk, Laurel Tofte, and JP McLaughlin. The <br />objectives of the Commission were reviewed. Meredyth Muth explained that the Commission has <br />applied for Certified Local Government status for the City of Louisville, and hopes to receive that <br />status by September 2004. <br /> <br />Alicia Mahoney highlighted a few sections of the proposed ordinance, and reviewed the format for <br />tonight’s meeting with City Council. Michael Koertje lead discussion on the proposed ordinance. <br /> <br />Criteria for Historical Designation were reviewed. Melanie Muckle explained that the criteria is <br />based upon national historical designation standards. <br /> <br />Criteria for Historic Districts were discussed. Melanie Muckle explained that these criteria are also <br />based upon national standards. <br /> <br />There was discussion regarding designation of landmarks and historic districts with and without <br />owners’ consent. <br /> <br />Economic hardship exemptions were reviewed. <br /> <br />
