CITY OF LOUISVILLE <br /> <br />FEBRUARY 12, 2002 <br /> <br />SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Louisville met in special session in the Library Conference <br />Room, 950 Spruce Street, Louisville, Colorado. Mayor Tom Davidson called the meeting to <br />order at 7:00 p.m., and the following persons were present - <br /> <br />City Council: <br /> <br />Mayor Tom Davidson, Mayor Pro-Tem Charles Sisk, <br />Council members: Don Brown Tom Mayer, Michele Van <br />Pelt, and Arnold Levihn. John Keany arrived at 7:05p. m. <br /> <br />Staff Present: <br /> <br />Bill Simmons, City Manager <br />Tom Phare, Public Works Director <br />Dianne Ray, Finance Director <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Nancy Varra, City Clerk <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Davidson called for changes to the Agenda. Hearing none, Davidson moved that the <br />Agenda be approved, seconded by Sisk. All in favor. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION/DIRECTION - DOWNTOWN PARKING <br /> <br />Eric Hartronft, Hartronft Fauri Architects, 801 Main Street, Louisville, CO presented the <br />Downtown Business Association' s proposal. The plan modifies the fee in lieu of on-site <br />parking spaces for projects in Downtown Louisville. <br /> <br />Hartronft stated that with the adoption of Ordinance No. 1287, many businesses have <br />been discouraged from expanding, and developing new projects. He referred to a recent <br />downtown-parking project and stated that the cost for construction was approximately <br />$2,000 and $6,000 for the land cost. He stressed that public parking is better than private <br />parking and expressed the DBA's desire the work with the City to develop the parking in <br />the downtown area. <br /> <br /> <br />
