It is a familiar refrain with the new
school year fast approaching. Pardon me for reminiscing and being
Ward I melancholy but this August 2004 is the final year for our daughter,Jennie, at
Dave Clabots Monarch High School. I can remember vividly waiting with my wife Terre and
303.673.9116 other anxious parents as we sent our children to kindergarten at Coal Creek
clabotd @ci.louisville.co.us Elementary for the first time. Tempus fugit (time flies) or so it appears. Our
John Keany family is also celebrating another occasion as our oldest granddaughter, Riane,
303.665.4818 will enter kindergarten this year at Louisville Elementary, so the pendulum
keanyj @ci.louisville.co.us adjusts accordingly.
But the fact remains: that which is most important to all of us is our families.
Ward II This then transcends into our community. To a great extent, Louisville embodies
Sheri Marsella a wonderful and caring community, which is reflected in all of our families.
303.665.3276 One of my favorite events will cap off the summer with the Fall Festival
marsels @ci.louisville.co.us celebration and the annual Labor Day parade. We are so fortunate to have our
Michele Van Pelt citizens devote countless hours behind the scenes to make this an enjoyable and
303.673.9235 fulfilling weekend to enjoy with family and friends.
vanpelm @ci.louisville.co.us
I would be remiss if I did not mention Elle Cabbage, who serves as our Labor
Day "maestro," and has done such a magnificent job of orchestrating the Fall
Ward III Festival activities for many years. Elle reflects and epitomizes the dedication of
Don Brown so many Louisville citizens and families to whom we owe our gratitude.
303.673.0648 As a community, Louisville is undertaking a citywide comprehensive plan to
brownd @ci.louisvillle.co.us look within our boundaries and determine the type of sustainable community
which will serve our present and future families. This undertaking is significant
Arnold Levihn and all encompassing. Please share with the City Council and staff your thoughts
303.665.2024 and concerns for the future of Louisville.
levihna @ci.louisville.co.us Change is inevitable and we are embarking on this comprehensive plan with
City Manager Bill Simmons open minds, anticipating and requesting responses from as many citizens as
303.335.4532 possible.
