Louisville City Council <br />Call to Order: Boulder Valley School District Board of Education President <br />Helayne Jones called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. <br />May 7, 2008 <br />Louisville Middle School Auditorium <br />1341 Main Street <br />4:00 - 6:30 PM <br />Mayor Sisk thanked the Boulder Valley School District Board of Education for <br />hosting the joint meeting. He commented the City of Louisville has always been <br />supportive of the Boulder Valley School District and has the highest regard for <br />the Design Advisory Team. IHe explained the City is looking for ways to preserve <br />the history of the school, which is representative of the community. He stressed <br />the City is not looking at changing the schedule or delaying the project. He asked <br />for allowances in the time limits in which members of the public could speak. He <br />noted Councilor Ron Sackett: had a previous engagement in Minnesota and <br />sends his regrets that he could not attend the meeting. <br />President Jones welcomed everyone to the Joint Meeting of the Boulder Valley <br />School District Board of Education and the Louisville City Council. She explained <br />the Boulder Valley School District serves over 28,000 students, over five hundred <br />square miles and seven municipalities. The main focus of the Boulder Valley <br />School District is to provide the best education for each of those 28,000 students. <br />The Board recognizes one of the most important values in providing quality <br />education is the partnership with the parents, communities, and students.
