Louisville City Council Call to Order: Boulder Valley School District Board of Education President Helayne Jones called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. May 7, 2008 Louisville Middle School Auditorium 1341 Main Street 4:00 - 6:30 PM Mayor Sisk thanked the Boulder Valley School District Board of Education for hosting the joint meeting. He commented the City of Louisville has always been supportive of the Boulder Valley School District and has the highest regard for the Design Advisory Team. IHe explained the City is looking for ways to preserve the history of the school, which is representative of the community. He stressed the City is not looking at changing the schedule or delaying the project. He asked for allowances in the time limits in which members of the public could speak. He noted Councilor Ron Sackett: had a previous engagement in Minnesota and sends his regrets that he could not attend the meeting. President Jones welcomed everyone to the Joint Meeting of the Boulder Valley School District Board of Education and the Louisville City Council. She explained the Boulder Valley School District serves over 28,000 students, over five hundred square miles and seven municipalities. The main focus of the Boulder Valley School District is to provide the best education for each of those 28,000 students. The Board recognizes one of the most important values in providing quality education is the partnership with the parents, communities, and students. She voiced her belief most speakers can articulate their presentation within two- minutes.
