z. a <br />~~`' <br />i~ ~~ r <br />~:~= <br />Horticulture & Forestry <br />Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Thursday, Oct 2, 2008 <br />Library Meeting Room <br />951 Spruce Street <br />7:00 PM <br />Call to Order -Chairperson Mike Frontczak called the meeting to order at 7:05 <br />pm. <br />Roll Call was taken and the following members were present: <br />Board Members Present: Mike Frontczak, Theresa Rounds, Ellen Toon <br />Board Members Absent: Matt Tepe <br />Staff Members Present: Chris Lichty, Dean Johnson <br />Approval of Agenda -The agenda was approved by all members. <br />Approval of Meeting Minutes -The minutes from the Sept. 4, 2008 meeting <br />were approved as written <br />Public Comments - No public present. Member comments on items not on the <br />agenda: <br />Mike supports limited use of 2,4-D or comparable herbicide for control of <br />broadleaf weeds in city parks. Dean and Chris have discussed necessity of more <br />weed control for next year, and Dean mentioned some possible alternatives to <br />2,4-D. <br />Chris and Dean are drafting an IPM document for their areas of responsibility. <br />Chris will email draft to HFAB members for review. <br />Regarding maintenance for next year, Mike also recommended that turfgrass in <br />parks be mowed lower than was done this year. <br />City of Louisville <br />Parks & Recreation Department 749 Main Street Louisville CO 80027 <br />303.335.4735 (phone) 303.335.4738 (fax) www_ci_louisville_co_us <br />
