Regardless of your political views, it has tremen- <br />dous inlpacts on state and, yes, even local governnlents. vVe, the citizens, <br />have less disposable incolne, and therefore \ve spend less money in our retail <br />stores, \vhich means less sales tax dollars to operate ollr City. vVe ,Ilso recog- <br />nize the businesses that are so important and critical for our City and realize <br />they too have fixed costs to operate their businesses. <br />How many of you are thinking about cutting back on your holiday ex- <br />penditures? How about the good folks in our City who have lost their jobs <br />because of the economy? How will they fare?
