<br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />LOUISVILLE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />AUGUST 3, 1982 <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Louisville met in regular session in the <br />Council Chambers, 749 Main Street, Louisville, Colorado. Mayor Norbert <br />Meier called the meeting to order at 7:35 PM, MOST. Therebeingpresent <br />at the call of the roll the following persons: <br /> <br />CO UN C I L M E M BE RS : <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br />ALSO PRES ENT: <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF THE <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />ITEMS ENCLOSED <br /> <br />COUNCIL ITEMS: <br />LOUISVILLE ASSOCIATES: <br />CENTENNIAL VALLEY MALL <br /> <br />EARL MARTIN, HOMART <br /> <br />John Leary, Michael Cussen, Susan Morris, <br />Dennis Ferrera, and Herman Fauson <br /> <br />Councilman Don Cummings <br /> <br />Leon Wurl, City Administrator <br />John Rupp, Director of Community Development <br />Dave Blanchard, City Engineer <br />Sharon Caranci, Chief Accountant <br />Rod Leesman,Director of Public Safety <br />Curt Rautenstraus, City Attorney <br />Joy McClard, Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br />Cleo Mudrock, City Clerk <br />August Hioco, Director of Community Services <br /> <br />Mayor Meier and councilmembers approved the <br />minutes of the July 20, 1982 meeting as presented. <br /> <br />Motion by Fauson and seconded by Ferrera that <br />the enclosed items be accepted and brought up under <br />the proper heading of business. All in favor. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Joe French, attorney for Louisville Associates, a <br />joint venture partnership, and working with Louis- <br />ville since November 1978. This is concerning the <br />desire of the Louisville Associates to personally <br />address the council in regard to the withdrawal <br />of Sears from the proposed Centennial Valley Mall <br />project. He stated Donald Kahan of Jacobs/Kahan; <br />Earl Martin, representing Homart, and Fred Bruening, <br />Sears Real Estate Division, would speak to Council. <br /> <br />Mr. Martin is Senior Development Director for Ho- <br />mart Development Co. and a general partner of <br />Louisville Associates. He read a formal statement <br />to Counci 1, "On behal f of the general partners of <br />Louisville City government, and the people of Louis- <br />ville and Boulder County for their support and <br />understanding during the past few days. To re- <br />iterate and formally confirm our statement of <br />July 28, 1982, Louisville Associates hereby announces <br />that we are discontinuing our plan to construct a <br />regional mall on property which we own at the inter- <br />section of the Denver-Boulder turnpike and Eisenhower <br />and Dillon Roads.
